I was thrilled to join my artist friend, Nancy Bennett, at the Leslie Grove Gallery in downtown Toronto today to view her beautiful solo show “Winter and Other Seasons” which features a celebration of Canada’s four “seasons” – Hockey, Flowers, Water and Forests. It runs until July 19 (next Sunday) so hurry down to view her paints and maybe take one home with you.

Nancy and I first met in the late 70s when we both worked for a renowned brokerage house in Toronto – I left to pursue an acting career but Nancy stuck it out for a couple of decades before taking early retirement and discovering her talent (and love) for painting. She’s developed a loyal following of fans and has exhibited at all the annual art fairs, expos and galleries, This current show offers large format paintings and several smaller pieces – something to fit any office space, home or apartment. She has several wintery skating works….I’ll let Nancy tell you about them:
And here’s Nancy talking about her urban landscapes…
Here are more examples of her art that feature landscapes, flowers, still life as well as her spectacular landscapes.

Watch Nancy talk about the pairing of her painting with a woven fabric masterwork.
So congratulations on such a wonderful show, Nancy, and I encourage art fans to visit the gallery and learn more about Nancy’s unique interpretations on life in Canada.
Leslie Grove Gallery is located at 1158 Queen St East, Toronto, and Nancy’s show runs until Sunday July 19. Gallery hours are Wed – Sun 12 noon to 5pm.
