ART TORONTO OPENS THIS EVENING, RUNS UNTIL SUNDAY NOV.1

I attended the media launch for this year’s annual art fair ART TORONTO, hosted at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (North Bldg) and runs from this evening, Thurs. Oct. 29 thru Sunday Nov. 1.  Details here: www.arttoronto.ca

Featuring galleries and individual artists, Art Toronto presents some of best contemporary art from around the world, as well as dynamic talks and guided tours. Since 2000, Art Toronto has been dedicated to supporting art in Canada, connecting audiences to local, national and international galleries, and promoting diverse creative practices.  And they offer great seating for relaxing or re-charging!Here’s a selection of artworks on show….I wish more gallerists or artists were on hand for a chat but I’ll let the paintings speak for themselves. I also ran into the lovely lady from the Portrait Gallery of Canada, in town from Ottawa (apologies for forgetting her name). They are building and branding (no bricks’n’mortar location yet) so please follow along on IG @portraitgalleryofcanada I also met a brilliant and talented artist from Spain – Conchi Alvares – who paints the most extraordinary abstract trees. Visit her website: www.stoagallery.com And no Art Toronto show is complete without the amazing art glass represented by the Sandra Ainsley Gallery here in Toronto. https://sandraainsleygallery.com/ Another cool surprise was discovering these fabulous fashionista ladies from @thymes_two taking selfies in one of the booths. Definitely a favourite photo from the show.

More fabulous finds…

Fazakas Gallery in Vancouver (www.fazakasgallery.com) was well represented with these stunning works…. And I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Noma Gallery booth with their stunning indigenous carvings and artwork. www.nomagallery.ca So thanks to Art Toronto for hosting today’s media event…we had a wonderful time and I personally can’t wait to share all the news!

Here’s event spokesperson, Emilie Jean, welcoming everyone to the show…
